E-tivities: effective activities to learn languages?

Účelem této semestrální práce je dozvědět čím je E-learning a odkud to příšlo, popsat historii vytváření electoního studia a pochopit klady a zápory tohoto typu školení. A samozřejmě pochopit, je takový studium efektivní nebo ne. Práce je rozdělena do sedm hlavních částí: definice, formy e-learningu, historie e-learningu, výhody e-learningu, nevýhod elektronického elektronického učení, vliv na vyučovací proces. Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu práce zástupců "e-learningu". Popis procesu učení jazyka a efektivity výuky angličtiny prostřednictvím e-learningu. Příspěvek popisuje proces výuky angličtiny pomocí dvou elektronických platforem. První objekt je placená online škola, největší společnost studující angličtinu ve východní Evropě. Druhou částí práce je bezplatná mobilní aplikace zaměřená na vývoj a výuku angličtiny, nejoblíbenější aplikace na světě v sekci online školení. Informace o firmách, historii vzniku a principy práce používané v aplikacích jsou prezentovány formou přehledu firem.

Účelem této bakalářské práce je překlad česky psaného technického textu do jazyka anglického a analýza rozdílů mezi oběma jazyky, jež se vyskytují v překladu. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí: teoretický úvod, překlad technického textu a analýza překladu. Teoretický úvod se zabývá typy překladu, charakteristikou odborných textů a jejich překladem. Přeložený text je z oblasti "počítačových sítí". V závěrečné části jsou na příkladech z přeloženého textu analyzovány jazykové jevy a charakteristické rysy anglického a českého jazyka.

Word-formation processes used by players of online games in writing

The content of the bachelor thesis consists of the analysis of word-formation processes used in Internet communication. The bachelor thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on word-formation processes used in English with an emphasis on shortening and abbreviation, as these two processes are being the most often used in Internet communication. Furthermore, the thesis briefly describes the environment of the game World of Warcraft and the communication of its players. The practical part is based on a corpus of data obtained from the game channel called "world chat", where the majority of players' communication takes place. The corpus itself is created using the LancsBox software, which is used to compile a list of the most frequent words used by players, for which their word-formation process is determined. The research aims to compile a ranking of the most frequently used word-formation processes by players.

Psychological background of usage of English phrases acronyms in schools

The thesis talks about psychological aspects of English phrases acronym usage among adolescent students of primary and secondary schools. It looks at which acronyms adolescents use, how they understand, use and perceive them and finally what are the specifics of vulgar acronym use. The theoretical part introduces the term acronym and sets it into a broader context of language and specifically e-language. It further talks about adolescence and specifics of adolescent communication. As acronyms that adolescents use the most come from electronic communication, it is also given a fair amount of attention. The empiric part offers research results of a survey consisting of two questionnaires. The results show that due to electronic communication adolescents abbreviate language intensively. The most popular way of abbreviating are acronyms. They use only limited number of selected acronyms though. Adolescents use acronyms exclusively among themselves. They expect rejection from adults. Even though almost all of them use acronyms, not all perceive them positively. Vulgar acronyms are used often and are not perceived as as strong as their unabbreviated versions. Abrreviation in Contemporary Bulgarian language in Comparison with the Czech language

ABBREVIATION IN CONTEMPORARY BULGARIAN LANGUAGE IN COMPARISON WITH THE CZECH LANGUAGE Dissertation work is aimed at confrontation study of abbreviation in Bulgarian in comparison with Czech and at the description of abbreviations as specific language symbols. Contemporary language tendencies and the changes in the field of abbreviation in relation to the language typology are taken into account. The work is dedicated to the grammatical, stylistic and semantic characteristics of the abbreviations, while a substantial part of the confrontation description addresses the graphical and initial abbreviations, which create a central part of the partial system of abbreviation formations. From the confrontational aspect, there is also described the ability of abbreviations to serve as word-formation base for derivatives. The dissertation work also includes the results of socio-linguistic research made by questionnaire method, where the respondents evaluated the abbreviations of an international character and the words containing abbreviated bases implemented into the text written in Cyrillic.

Abbreviations and Acronyms in Russian in Comparison with Czech

The Bachelor thesis deals with abbreviations and acronyms in contemporary Russian language compared to their Czech equivalents. At the theoretical level, thesis deals with word formation, focusing on abbreviation and classification of abbreviations and acronyms and their information. In the practical part are located the dictionary of abbreviations and the dictionary of acronyms, which are made from the selected words from current Russian texts.
